The Secret to a Perfect Ring Fit
Buying a ring online can be stressful, but with the right measurements, you can avoid the hassle of resizing. Our Pro Ring Size Calculator uses the standard US formula to convert your finger's physical dimensions into a jewelry-store size.
How to Measure Your Ring Size at Home
- The String Method: Wrap a piece of non-stretchy string or a strip of paper around the base of your finger. Mark where the ends meet. Measure the string in millimeters (mm) to find the Circumference.
- The Existing Ring Method: If you already have a ring that fits perfectly, measure the Inside Diameter by placing it on a ruler and measuring the widest distance across the inner circle.
- Account for Your Knuckle: If your knuckle is significantly larger than the base of your finger, measure both and choose a size in between so the ring can slide over the knuckle but won't fall off.
When to Measure
Your finger size changes based on the time of day and the weather:
- Morning vs. Evening: Fingers are usually smaller in the morning and swell by the end of the day.
- Temperature: Cold weather causes fingers to shrink; heat causes them to swell. Measure your finger at the end of the day when it is at its largest for the most comfortable fit.
Standard Sizing Systems
- US Sizing: Used in the US, Canada, and Mexico. Sizes range from 0 to 16, including half and quarter sizes.
- UK/AU Sizing: Uses an alphabetical system (A to Z).
- EU Sizing: Based on the inner circumference in millimeters (e.g., a size 52 is a 52mm circumference).
